The loss of a loved one often creates within us an emptiness, a groundlessness. A Celebration of Life Service not only honors the life of the one who has made their transition, but it also offers those left behind a solid way to put ground back underneath them. A loving, healing space can be created by the celebration of their life and a deepened awareness that the departed one will always be alive in the minds and the hearts of those left behind.

Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep
By Mary Elizabeth Frye

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you wake in the morning hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
(Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there, I did not die!)
